December 5, 2013- Akadema Professional has announced the signing of the East Carolina University Softball Program. The deal provides each player on the team with a fully custom Akadema glove. The Pirates become another nationally recognized program to join the Akadema Team. Head Coach Beth Keylon- Randolph brings an impressive resume to East Carolina as she enters her second full season as Head Coach. The coach has over 600 career victories including 10 conference titles and 6 coach of the year selections. Along with a tremendous amount of accolades, Coach Keylon-Randolph won the 2012 National Championship while coaching in the National Junior College Athletic Association. Akadema looks forward to assisting the Pirates as they begin to prepare for the upcoming season.

PR(10/14/13) Hawthorne NJ- Akadema endorser Craig Breslow, in a recent article by MLB.com writer Lindsay Berra is regarded as the ‘smartest man in baseball.’ Breslow, a graduate of Yale with a double major in biophysics and biochemistry has proven throughout this season that baseball is as mentally demanding as any other sport. In 2010, Breslow was named the smartest athlete by The Sporting News and in 2012 he was named by Men’s Fitness as one of the ten smartest athletes in professional sports. PR (8/28/2013) Hawthorne NJ – Akadema endorser Shane Victorino went 3 for 4 last night, hit his 100th career homerun, drove in 7 runs, and scored 4 of his own. Victorino, who has been part of the Akadema family for the last 6 years, has been sporting a custom AMR-34 12¾’ glove and has been a major part of Boston’s success this year. Last night Victorino hit two homeruns and one was his milestone 100th for his career. Victorino now has his batting average up to .292 for the year and .313 for the month.

Hawthorne, NJ – October 16, 2012 – Akadema Endorser Bryce Harper turns 20 years old today, on Tuesday, October 16th.  Harper finished his teen years with a great rookie season in the MLB, with the Washington Nationals.  Harper became the first teenager to hit a triple in a postseason game, and became the second-youngest player to hit a homerun, when he did it against the St. Louis Cardinals, on Friday, October 12th, as well as becoming the 11th teenager to play in the playoffs.  Harper is also in sole possession of second place with home runs hit by a teenager with 21 this season.  In 2010, Akadema signed Harper to a long-term glove contract, which was the same year he was drafted first overall in the MLB draft.  Harper uses an Akadema custom AMR 34 glove in the field.

Hawthorne, NJ – October 5, 2012 – Akadema endorser Brandon McCarthy could return to pitch in the playoffs for the Oakland Athletics, if they make a deep run.  McCarthy was hit in the head with a line drive while pitching against the Los Angeles Angels, on Wednesday, September 5th.  McCarthy has recovered from the accident, and might be ready to pitch in the playoffs, if the Athletics make a deep run and need him.  For the season, McCarthy is 8-6, with a 3.24 ERA, and 73 strikeouts.  McCarthy uses a 12-inch, B-Hive Web, AMO 102 Shell, and is part of Akadema’s endorsement team.

Hawthorne, NJ – October 4, 2012 – Akadema endorser Cameron Maybin had a big night against the Milwaukee Brewers, on Wednesday, October 3rd.  Maybin had a big home run in the 6th inning to put the Padres up 8-3.  Maybin finished the night 1-4, with 1 run, and 2 RBI’s.  Maybin also made a diving catch in the 1st inning, to keep the game scoreless.  For the season, Maybin is batting .243, with 67 runs, 8 home runs, and 45 RBI’s.  Maybin uses a Custom Navy ACM 39, and is part of Akadema’s endorsement team.
